Time for Grace and Tom (part three)
January 14, 2024Crown of Solitude
Verse
In my kingdom of triumph, where glory resides,
A taste of victory, a soaring high I can't hide,
But the sweet air of conquest, it carries a hidden song,
For when there's no one beside me, the melody feels wrong.
Pre-Chorus
I've climbed mountains, conquered lands,
Yet this crown of solitude still weighs on my hands,
When the battle is won, and the cheering fades away,
The emptiness consumes, the price I have to pay.
Chorus
For the smell of victory, it lingers in the air,
But without someone to share, it turns into despair,
From the mountain tops, to the depths of defeat,
The taste of triumph turns sour, a bittersweet deceit.
Verse
In the halls of glory, where legends are born,
I stand alone, my heart starts to mourn,
For the victories mean nothing if you're left alone,
Basking in the spoils, but the joy is overthrown.
Pre-Chorus
I've defeated giants, faced demons untamed,
But without someone by my side, it feels all in vain,
When the battle is won, and the silence fills the void,
The thrill fades away, the dream I had destroyed.
Chorus
For the smell of victory, it lingers in the air,
But without someone to share, it turns into despair,
From the mountain tops, to the depths of defeat,
The taste of triumph turns sour, a bittersweet deceit.
Bridge
Oh, I've fought through fire, I've conquered it all,
But the sweetness of glory, it's my heartache's pall,
A crown upon my head, a throne without a mate,
Securing my position, but breeding this lonely state.
Chorus
For the smell of victory, it lingers in the air,
But without someone to share, it turns into despair,
From the mountain tops, to the depths of defeat,
The taste of triumph turns sour, a bittersweet deceit.
Outro
So, I raise my cup to the battles I have won,
Yet deep down inside, I'm still a lonely one,
For the smell of victory can be as sour as defeat,
When there's no one to share it with, life feels incomplete.
Crown of solitude, my eternal retreat.
