Rise
January 14, 2023Two-Step Thoughts
The air we breathe, so easily forgotten
A gift from nature, often taken for granted
Like the sun that rises, a sight to behold
But often overlooked, as stories are told
The ground beneath us, steady and secure
A foundation for life, but often obscure
Like the water we drink, a vital source
But often wasted, without remorse
The friends we make, a treasure to treasure
A bond like no other, but often leisure
Like the family we have, a love so true
But often taken for granted, as the years flew
The freedoms we have, a right to defend
But often overlooked, till they're at an end
Like the memories we make, a past to recall
But often forgotten, as life moves on and enthralls
So let us not take for granted, the things that sustain
The beauty of life, let it forever remain
A constant reminder, to be grateful and true
For all that we have, that makes our life anew
The love we share, a feeling so pure
But often mistreated, without a cure
Like the laughter we hear, a joyous sound
But often silenced, when life becomes profound
The dreams we dream, a world of our own
But often forgotten, as reality is shown
Like the hope we have, a light in the dark
But often dimmed, by life's endless mark
The peace we seek, a haven of rest
But often disturbed, by life's endless test
Like the knowledge we gain, a treasure to keep
But often unused, as life becomes steep
The kindness we show, a gift to give
But often neglected, as we strive to live
Like the simplicity of life, a beauty untold
But often missed, as we seek for gold
So let us not take for granted, the things that enrich
The depth of life, let it forever stitch
A constant reminder, to be mindful and kind
For all that we have, that makes our life divine
