Dancing On A String
August 13, 2024Comfortable In The Strange
Verse
Whispering shadows in the twilight’s embrace,
They call me strange, but I just need my space.
Dancing with the echoes of a midnight dream,
I find solace in the moon’s gentle gleam.
Pre-Chorus
They label me, try to fit me in their mold,
But my spirit’s free, my heart’s not sold.
Anti-social, anti-establishment, they say,
But I’m just me, I’ll live my own way.
Chorus
I’m comfortable in the strange,
Loving what they call weird.
I won’t change, I won’t rearrange,
Their norms are what I feared.
Call me anti-social, call me what you will,
I’ll be me, standing still.
Verse
In the garden where the wild flowers grow,
I find beauty in the things they’ll never know.
Their eyes avert from the unknown and bizarre,
But I find magic in each peculiar star.
Pre-Chorus
They label me, try to fit me in their mold,
But my spirit’s free, my heart’s not sold.
Anti-social, anti-establishment, they say,
But I’m just me, I’ll live my own way.
Chorus
I’m comfortable in the strange,
Loving what they call weird.
I won’t change, I won’t rearrange,
Their norms are what I feared.
Call me anti-social, call me what you will,
I’ll be me, standing still.
Bridge
In the mirror, I see a world they’ll never see,
A reflection of the soul that’s truly free.
I don’t need their validation, don’t need their praise,
I’ll walk my path in this twilight haze.
Chorus
I’m comfortable in the strange,
Loving what they call weird.
I won’t change, I won’t rearrange,
Their norms are what I feared.
Call me anti-social, call me what you will,
I’ll be me, standing still.
Outro
Whispering shadows, twilight’s embrace,
I find my peace in this sacred space.
They call me strange, but it’s my sanctuary,
In the world of the weird, I’ll always be free.
