Morning Melodies

Comfortable In The Strange
August 12, 2024Upon the Hills of Morning Light
Upon the hills of morning light I tread,
Where golden rays through ancient oaks are spread,
And in the stillness of the waking day,
The whispers of the earth my heart convey.
The brook that dances down the mossy stone,
Sings songs of yore that I have always known,
In every droplet, life does gently stir,
A tender pulse, a silent, sacred purr.
The daisies nod, as if in soft accord,
With every breeze that bears the robin’s chord,
And in the meadow’s wide embrace, I find,
The simple joy of nature’s gentle mind.
Oh, how the valleys deep and mountains high,
Speak to the soul that yearns to see the sky,
Not in the bounds of human thought confined,
But in the wilds where truth and beauty bind.
Here in this realm, untouched by toil or tear,
The spirit soars, unburdened, free, and clear,
For in these woods, where light and shadow play,
The heart of man finds peace in nature’s sway.
So let me wander through this verdant land,
With naught but faith, and time’s eternal hand,
For in the quiet of the earth’s embrace,
I find the boundless love of nature’s grace.
