Twilight Days

In the twilight of his days, he sits alone,
Reflecting on the life that he has known.
A man who's journeyed far and wide,
With memories as his faithful guide.

Through valleys deep and mountains high,
He faced each challenge with a steadfast eye.
Not without struggle, nor without pain,
But always rising, to try again.

He built a legacy, brick by brick,
With every obstacle, he'd quickly pick
A path that led him to success,
A testament to his strength, no less.

Yet now, as the sun begins to set,
He finds himself filled with no regret.
For every moment, every choice he made,
Has led him to where he is today.

He marvels at the speed of time,
How swiftly it passed, like a fleeting rhyme.
And though his body may grow weak and old,
His spirit burns bright, a fire untold.

For he knows that even as the end draws near,
His accomplishments will forever appear
As monuments to a life well-lived,
A legacy of which he's proud to give.

So let the sands of time continue to flow,
For he's lived a life that others may know
Was filled with wonder, and joy, and grace,
A journey worth every step he did embrace.
