May 1, 2023The Universe Dies
In the end, all things must die,
Even the stars up in the sky.
The universe, once so bright and vast,
Will one day breathe its very last.
No more galaxies or black holes,
No more stories to be told.
All that once was will be gone,
A fading echo of a cosmic song.
The stars will flicker and then fade,
The night sky, once bright, will be dark and grayed.
No more planets to circle 'round,
No more life to be found.
The universe will be silent, empty, and still,
A vast expanse with no one to fill.
No more light to shine or shadows to cast,
Just an eternal, endless, blackened vast.
And yet, in the midst of this void,
There is still a glimmer of something to be enjoyed.
For all that once was, all that had been,
Will live on, if only in memory and dream.
The stories of the universe will remain,
Echoing through time, like a cosmic refrain.
A legacy left by all that once was,
A gift to the universe, from the laws of its cause.
And so, as the universe dies,
We'll remember the beauty that filled our eyes.
The stars and galaxies that once shone so bright,
And the mysteries that filled us with delight.
For even in death, there is still something to be gained,
A memory of the universe that will forever remain.
And perhaps, in some distant future or place,
The universe will be born anew, with a fresh and shining face.
So let us not mourn the universe's fate,
But celebrate the beauty that it did create.
And cherish the stories and memories it leaves behind,
For in them, the universe's true legacy we'll find.
