Verse
I walk a tightrope on a windy night,
Always chasing dreams just out of sight,
Every ladder I climb, it breaks or bends,
It's a funny world, where it never ends.
My lucky charm has long since expired,
I'm like a firework that never gets fired.
At the carnival, I lost my ticket home,
Got no pocket change, just a wishbone.
Pre-Chorus
Every door's locked, every bridge is burned,
Every lesson I've learned gets overturned,
But I’m still standing, got my head up high,
Even if the joke's on me, I don't cry.
Chorus
I’m the sixth son of a sixth son,
Never been at the right place at the right time,
Never got to sparkle in the sun.
Luck and good fortune are not my friends,
But in the end, I’m still fine,
Just got nowhere to go and nowhere to run.
Verse
At the slots, I'm always one coin short,
My ship's a raft, and it’s sunk at port.
In the race of life, I’m the tortoise, not the hare,
But I don’t mind; I really don't care.
People bet against me, and they usually win,
My life’s a sitcom, where do I begin?
But through the laughs and the funny twist of fate,
I find the joy in being second-rate.
Pre-Chorus
Every star I wish on seems to hide its light,
Every step I take, I’m slightly to the right,
But I’m still standing, got my head up high,
Even if the joke’s on me, I don’t cry.
Chorus
I’m the sixth son of a sixth son,
Never been at the right place at the right time,
Never got to sparkle in the sun.
Luck and good fortune are not my friends,
But in the end, I’m still fine,
Just got nowhere to go and nowhere to run.
Bridge
Maybe I'll always be the underdog,
A punchline in a cosmic blog.
But I’ve got heart, and I’ve got soul,
And I play my part, though I don’t control.
Chorus
I’m the sixth son of a sixth son,
Never been at the right place at the right time,
Never got to sparkle in the sun.
Luck and good fortune are not my friends,
But in the end, I’m still fine,
Just got nowhere to go and nowhere to run.
Outro
So here’s to every one who's just like me,
Dancing through life in an offbeat harmony,
We may not shine, but we’re still having fun,
'Cause I can see it all clearly as a Sixth Son.
