Fear and Loathing

In heavy shadows cast by deceit's bitter kiss,
A tale of scheming politicians begins,
Their web of craft, each step a cunning twist,
As wedge issues ignite the fire within.

With venomous tongues, they sow seeds of hate,
Dividing hearts, manipulating minds,
Exploiting fears, the fragile fabric they break,
With twisted words, their wickedness binds.

Beware the ploys of those who seek to gain,
Power and wealth, at the cost of unity,
Their schemes, like poisoned arrows, leave a stain,
Fragmenting a nation, fracturing community.

But amidst this chaos and cynical art,
A flicker of hope within hearts does ignite,
For truth, like a beacon, can still impart,
The strength to resist the darkness, to fight.

Let not their words cloud the path we must tread,
For unity stands tall, undeterred by schemes,
In empathy and understanding we are fed,
A counter-narrative, a beacon of dreams.

So let our voices rise above their deceit,
In poetry's realm, let love be the theme,
For hatred fades when compassion we meet,
And in unity, we restore the shattered dream.
