Christmas Spirits
December 25, 2023Celibrate
During winter's hush, when shadows long,
A tapestry of faith, a universal song.
So in rhyme and meter, let me weave,
A tale of celebrations, on this eve.
Beneath the ancient Pagan trees,
Druids dance with spirits, a gentle breeze.
Yule fires burning, a sacred rite,
Welcoming the solstice, embracing night.
In mosques adorned with carpets grand,
Muslim voices echo, a prayerful band.
Prostrating towards the sacred East,
A unity of souls, a divine feast.
Beneath the Bodhi, where Siddhartha sat,
Buddhist chants, a tranquil mat.
Enlightenment sought, in silent contemplation,
A path of peace, a spiritual veneration.
In synagogues adorned with golden light,
Jewish hearts kindle candles bright.
Eight nights of dedication, a festival of lights,
Miracles remembered on these sacred nights.
In cathedrals vast, with stained glass tall,
Christian hymns resound, in humble thrall.
The Christ child's birth, a story old,
A season of grace, a tale retold.
Yet, in this symphony of diverse devotion,
A common thread, a shared emotion.
For under the same stars, diverse but true,
A celebration of spirit, in each and every hue.
