Gotta Let It Go

The Angst of Youth
March 13, 2023Just A Century
In the 1920s, life was simpler in many ways,
With less technology and fewer modern-day frays.
People worked hard and had fewer conveniences,
But their lives were still full of joys and instances.
The world was a different place, with fewer cars on the roads,
And people used to take their time to travel to their abodes.
The telegraph was the fastest way to send a message,
And for entertainment, people used to read books and engage.
In the 2020s, life has become much faster and efficient,
With smartphones, social media, and instant gratification.
We can connect with people from all around the world,
And access to knowledge is available with a simple word.
But with all the advances that modern life brings,
We are constantly rushing and have forgotten simple things.
We eat on the go and have little time for reflection,
And sometimes it feels like we're just going through the motions.
In the 1920s, people had a strong sense of community,
And they would come together for any occasion with unity.
Families would sit down and share meals every day,
And people would have long conversations to pass the time away.
In the 2020s, we have more distractions than ever before,
And we often forget what it means to truly adore.
We are more connected than ever, but somehow disconnected,
And sometimes it feels like we're all just lost and dejected.
In conclusion, life in the 1920s was a simpler time,
With fewer distractions and more time for the sublime.
But life in the 2020s has brought about a new reality,
One that is fast-paced and always on the brink of infinity.
The key is to life is a balance between the old and the new,
To take the best of both worlds and make it ring true.
For life is all about finding happiness and contentment,
And that can be achieved with a little bit of adjustment.
