Life’s Embrace
September 4, 2024Ghost of My Younger Days
Verse
I remember the days when life was so light,
Running through the streets, chasing the night.
Laughter echoed, dreams were bold,
The world was ours, or so we were told.
Pre-Chorus
But time moves fast, it never slows,
Turns young hearts into heavy souls.
Now I walk these streets, a shadow's grace,
A distant memory in this familiar place.
Chorus
Oh, I'm just a ghost of my younger days,
Where the sun shone bright, and the sky was ablaze.
Now I ride the train, head down, eyes grey,
Living a life that slowly slips away.
Verse
Shoulder to shoulder, we marched with pride,
Believing in something, we couldn’t be denied.
But now the fire fades, the spark is gone,
Just another face, lost in the dawn.
Pre-Chorus
The weight of the world, it pulls me down,
No longer the king, I’ve lost my crown.
In the nine-to-five, I slowly drown,
Wearing a smile that’s really a frown.
Chorus
Oh, I'm just a ghost of my younger days,
Where the sun shone bright, and the sky was ablaze.
Now I ride the train, head down, eyes grey,
Living a life that slowly slips away.
Bridge
Every day feels the same, just a different name,
But the streets remember, they whisper my name.
If I could go back, just for a while,
I'd chase the sun, and find my smile.
Chorus
Oh, I'm just a ghost of my younger days,
Where the sun shone bright, and the sky was ablaze.
Now I ride the train, head down, eyes grey,
Living a life that slowly slips away.
Outro
As the years go by, I fade away,
But in my heart, those memories stay.
A ghost of my youth, in the city's maze,
Still searching for the light of better days.
