Tell Me I’m Right
August 26, 2024The Eternal Flame
In the ancient lands where the mountains rise,
And rivers carve the earth 'neath endless skies,
There stood a kingdom, bold and ever bright,
Guarded by warriors, sworn to the light.
But shadows crept from the edge of the world,
Where the night unfurls and dark wings are unfurled.
A menace unseen for a thousand years,
Awakened from dreams, born of deepest fears.
A hero arose, from the humble and meek,
With eyes like the sun and a heart so unique.
No crown did he wear, nor sword did he wield,
But courage untold was his mighty shield.
He journeyed far through valleys of dread,
Where the whispers of doom filled the air with dread.
Through forests enchanted, where spirits did roam,
And mountains of ice, cold as the tomb.
In the heart of the storm, where the tempest raged,
He met the old sage, wise and aged.
“Seek the flame that burns in the void,” he said,
“To vanquish the darkness and wake the dead.”
With the sage's words as a guiding star,
The hero pressed on to lands afar.
Through deserts of glass and seas of fire,
Driven by fate and a soul's desire.
At last, he came to the cavern’s maw,
Where the flame of life he finally saw.
It flickered alone, in the endless night,
A beacon of hope, so pure and bright.
But guarding the flame was a beast of the deep,
With eyes that could see where the shadows creep.
A battle ensued, of fury and might,
As the hero fought on, with no end in sight.
Through pain and fear, he stood his ground,
Till the beast was slain with a final sound.
He took up the flame in his weary hand,
And carried it forth across the land.
With the flame in his grasp, he returned to his kin,
Where the light did blaze and the night grew thin.
The darkness fled, as dawn did break,
And the kingdom awoke in the hero's wake.
Now the hero rests, in legends told,
A tale of a soul so brave and bold.
And the flame he found still burns today,
A symbol of hope in a world of gray.
For in every heart, the flame does dwell,
An eternal light, where shadows fell.
And those who seek it, with courage true,
Will find in themselves the strength to renew.
