Rise Against The Emperor

Leaving it All Behind
April 8, 2024Lost In The Din
In the dawn of industry, man's fervent might,
With clang of hammers and engines alight.
Through smoke-filled skies and towering steel,
His dreams of progress, a relentless wheel.
From countryside glades to urban sprawl,
He forged his path, heedless of the call
Of nature's whispers, lost in the din,
Building empires from within.
Yet amidst the whirr of machinery's song,
Lingers a shadow, a truth not gone.
For in his quest for mastery's gleam,
He's bound himself in chains unseen.
The rivers once clear now run dark and grim,
The air once pure, now choked and dim.
And as the factories churn and churn,
The price of progress, he begins to learn.
For in the race for progress and gain,
He's sacrificed nature, his own domain.
In the clamor of progress, he finds no rest,
A soul adrift, in pursuit of conquest.
So let us pause, in this industrial age,
And heed the warnings of history's page.
For in the heart of progress, let us find,
A balance with nature, a harmony aligned.
